Flo King Pump &
Filter Systems
for Metal Processing Solutions

The four-in-one approach in a single
system: pump, filter, agitate, treat.

Pump,
Filter, Agitate, Treat
Flo King Pump & Filter
Systems pump, filter,
agitate, and treat metal finishing solutions for electroplating, anodizing, printed
circuit, low-sludging iron phosphate, and more. The Flo King system offers many
advantages, including:
-
Elimination of leaks and spills associated with
out-of-tank filter systems.
-
Agitation as a natural byproduct of filtration. This
feature is frequently sufficient to replace air or
mechanical agitation systems.
-
Fast,
easy installation. Out of the box and into the tank!
-
Ease
of filter cartridge changes, without the need for
tools or production interruptions.
-
In-tank
carbon treatment for the removal of organic
impurities, such as brightener breakdown products.
-
Versatility ... can be used stationary in one tank
or moved from tank to tank as a utility pump.
-
Less
costly than out-of-tank filter systems.
-
Can be
used with our novel blanket-like reusable filter
cartridges, or with disposables. It's your choice.

Pump.
Depending on the model, you can pump
from a few hundred to 12,000 gallons per hour (1000 to
45,000 liters/hour). This configuration is useful when
your sole objective is to circulate a solution, without
filtration. This arrangement can also be used in
conjunction with our Transfer Adapter Kit to pump
solution from one tank to another. A strainer is
employed to protect the impeller. |
 |
Filter.
Insert a filter cartridge and you are
now ready to remove dirt, particulates, and other
solids. No tools are required. Hand-loosen the filter
screws, twist the cartridge into the pump impeller
housing, and hand-tighten the filter screws. You will be
filtering minutes after receiving your unit. Choose from
our wide assortment of reusable or disposable
cartridges. Filtration increases the life of expensive
chemical solutions and contributes to waste minimization
by reducing or eliminating bath dumps.

 |
Agitate.
Yes, Flo King agitates and filters at
the same time. On the discharge port, where solution is
expelled from the pump, you can use our High-Flow 45- or
90-degree elbows to direct the agitation as desired. Or,
as shown here, you can use the more exotic Kurt Tube
sparger for a highly uniform, unidirectional source of
agitation. Either way, the Flo King system frequently
provides all the solution movement required--without
separate air or mechanical agitation equipment. |
 |
Treat.
Last but not least, you can remove
organic contaminants, including brightener breakdown
products, maskants, photoresist, overadditions of
brighteners, and small amounts of oil. Just remove the
filter cartridge and insert in its place one of our
carbon-containing attachments--cartridge, canister or
bag (shown here). Yes, the Flo King system gives you the
flexibility to use a single pump for four essential
metal finishing tasks. Pump, Filter, Agitate and Treat
without the worry of leaks or spills.

Flo King
Pumps & Filter System Models
Flo King offers
several pump models, as shown below. The flow rate
is given in gph (gallons per hour) and LPH (liters
per hour). These units can be used as filter systems
(with cartridges) or just as pumps (without filter
cartridges). All employ the same principle of
operation and can be used for pumping, filtering,
and agitating. All but the SP12K can also be
employed for in-tank carbon treatment. Selection
should be based on tank size, degree of agitation
desired, available space in tank, clearance above
tank, temperature, and chemical composition.

 |
Flo King BX650.
Tank too large for the Lab Series but too
small for the BX1200? The BX650 can be used in tanks as
small as 5 gallons to a few hundred gallons (20 to about
1,000 L), depending on tank-turnover and agitation
requirements. Pump provides 650 gallons per hour (2400
liters per hour) of flow rate using a motor rated at
1/15th hp (50-watt). |
 |
Flo King BX1200.
Lightweight, high-flow-rate, easy-to-use system is the
industry workhorse. Features a 1/12th-hp (60-watt) motor
and requires only a 4-in.-square (10-cm-sq) area of
in-tank space yet provides vigorous agitation and a
maximum 1200 gph (4500 LPH). Remove filter cartridge and
insert carbon-containing attachment to treat for
organics. |
 |
Flo King Lab Series.
For laboratory, prototype and clean production
operations in very small tanks or beakers. Maximum flow
rate is 400 gph (1500 LPH), depending on filter elements
and attachments selected. Popular for precious metals
plating and a host of applications in the decorative and
electronics fields.
|
 |
Flo King BXL2500.
Low-profile unit provides a maximum
flow rate of 2500 gph (9500 LPH). Inverted motor
arrangement stands just 2" (5 cm) above tank--ideal
where overhead clearance is a concern. As with other
larger models, impeller housing swivels 360 degrees to
enable preferred positioning of pump body and filter
cartridges in tank. |
 |
Flo King
BX3000. It weighs just over 20 lb (9 kg)
yet offers a maximum flow rate of 3,000 gph (11,500 LPH).
Can be used with one, two or even four filter
cartridges. As with other Flo King models, the BX3000
prevents bath stratification by furnishing circulation
to promote uniform temperature and chemical
composition. |
 |
Flo King
BX5000. Excellent for larger tanks or
anywhere aggressive agitation is desired. Operates with
3/4-hp motor and pumps a maximum of 5,000 gph (19,000
LPH) yet is still portable. Like other Flo King units,
it is available in CPVC, polypropylene, stainless steel
and PVDF (Kynar), and can be used with reusable or
disposable filter cartridges. |
 |
Flo King
BXL5000. Like the BXL2500, this unit
features a low-profile design to avoid above-tank
obstructions. But at a maximum 5000 gph (19,000 LPH), it
offers twice the flow rate. Accepts full complement of
accessories, including Slide-In Filter Cartridge Adapter
for changing filter cartridges without moving pump from
tank. |
 |
Flo King
SP12K. Pumps a maximum of 12,000 gph
(45,000 LPH) using a 3-hp motor. A candidate for
filtration and agitation of larger tanks. Available in
220 or 440 V. As with other Flo King models, can be used
with pipe sparging system, if desired, for special
circulation effects such as agitation from the tank
bottom up or from side to side. |
